Transforming the London Fire Brigade following Grenfell

London Fire Brigade
Created on
04 March 2020

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) received extensive criticism in two recent independent reports highlighting the need for change and improvement [1].

The London Fire Commissioner (LFC), Andy Roe, is leading a vital transformation plan within the organisation with a focus on four strategic pillars: the best people and the best place to work; seizing the future; delivering excellence; and outward facing.

Tomorrow, the London Assembly Fire, Resilience and Emergency Planning Committee will question Andy Roe on his transformation plan to ensure the LFB is making the right changes in sufficient time.

Other guests include:

  • Fiona Twycross, Deputy Mayor for Fire and Resilience
  • Richard Mills, Deputy Commissioner – Safety and Assurance, LFB
  • Sue Budden, Director of Corporate Services, LFB

Guests will also be supported by:

  • Tim Powell, Assistant Director – People Services, LFB
  • Susan Ellison-Bunce, Assistant Director – Strategy and Risk, LFB

The meeting will take place on Thursday, 5 March 2020 at 3pm in the Chamber, City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).

Media and members of the public are invited to attend.

The meeting can also be viewed LIVE via webcast or on our YouTube channel.
