Opportunity Areas in London – are they working?

Opportunity Areas in London, are targeted to provide at least 5,000 new jobs and 2,500 new homes. There are currently 47 of them in London and many have grown beyond their original area.



Tomorrow the London Assembly Regeneration Committee will discuss Opportunity Areas and whether they are a successful development model for the Mayor of London.



How engaged are local communities and local businesses in the development of Opportunity Areas?



The following guests will attend:

  • Jules Pipe CBE, Deputy Mayor, Planning, Regeneration and Skills
  • Darren Richards, Strategic Planning Manager, GLA
  • Sarah Scannell, Assistant Director Planning and Development, London Borough of Hounslow
  • Councillor Martin Seaton, Chair of the Planning Committee, Southwark Council

The meeting will take place on Thursday, 27 February 2020 at 10:00am in The Chamber, City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
