The Regeneration Committee reviews the Mayor’s regeneration functions and spending decisions, including oversight of the Mayor’s Development Corporations.
The Regeneration Committee is investigating the delivery and progress of the GLA Housing Zones Programme. A total of £600 million in funding has been made available by the Mayor and the Government for the construction of 75,000 new homes over ten years between 2016-2026.
The programme will also provide 150,000 associated jobs over the next ten years. The funding pot consists of £200 million of GLA grants and £400 million of loans to local authorities and developers.

Exploring Social Regeneration after Grenfell, 5 September 2018
The Committee quizzed representatives of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea about resident-led regeneration following traumatic events such as the Grenfell fire. The Committee asked how communities can be supported to rebuild, not just physically, but emotionally as well.
