The Regeneration Committee reviews the Mayor’s regeneration functions and spending decisions, including oversight of the Mayor’s Development Corporations.

Publicly examined the performance of Olympic Park venues such as the ArcelorMittal Orbit with the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC). Following the meeting the Committee received this response from the LLDC.
Highlighted issues around stadium regeneration schemes. Encouraging Premier League football clubs to make a commitment to pay staff the London Living Wage and called for greater transparency around West Ham’s tenancy of the Olympic Stadium.
Pressed for acceleration of regeneration plans at the Royal Docks in east London and sought assurances from the Mayor that local communities will benefit from the project.
Effectively influenced the Mayor to introduce an innovative match funding mechanism to enable non-public sector organisations to bid for support through the High Street Regeneration Fund.
