London Assembly response to Transport for London deaths

Dr Alison Moore AM, Chair of the Transport Committee, said:

“It is a tragedy that 57 Transport for London staff have died as a result of COVID-19. Transport workers have died from just doing their job and helping other Londoners to move around the city.

Now, in the third lockdown, ridership is up by nearly a quarter compared to the first lockdown. The Mayor and TfL must continue to make it clear to the public, as they did in March last year, that Londoners should only take absolutely necessary transport journeys.”
