The Adult Education Budget (AEB) funds adult education services with the aim of providing adults with the skills they need to enter the labour market.
Responsibility for the AEB is being transferred from central government to the Greater London Authority (GLA) from the academic year 2019/2020.
The AEB is estimated to be £311m. The devolution of the budget provides a unique opportunity to improve efficiency and tailor provision for adult skills to meet the needs of Londoners and London’s economy.
The Education Panel will tomorrow discuss the devolution of the Adult Education Budget to the Greater London Authority and the areas in which the budget could help to improve adult education services.
The guests are:
- Jules Pipe CBE, Deputy Mayor for Planning, Regeneration and Skills
- Michelle Cuomo Boorer, Assistant Director - Skills & Employment, Greater London Authority
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 30 January at 2.00pm in The Chamber (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
Media and members of the public are invited to attend
The meeting can also be viewed LIVE via webcast or Youtube.
