In response to the publication of “Think Night: London’s Neighbourhoods from 6pm to 6am”[1], Assembly Member Caroline Russell says:

I welcome this report into London’s Night Time Economy, outlining ways to use culture and business to boost local economies and help the capital’s hard-up high streets in both inner and outer London.

“But it’s disappointing there is no recommendation about pay in today’s report for people working at night, when over half of million of them are already paid below the London Living Wage[2]. This is almost double the number of people who are paid less than the London Living Wage during the day. The Mayor needs to offer support to employers in the Night Time Economy, especially precarious cultural enterprises, to help them pay their staff properly as outlined in his own Good Work Standard[3].
