HMICFRS’ Annual Assessment of Policing in England and Wales shows that in the year ending 31 March 2023, the Met Police had an offence brought to justice outcome rate of 4.7%, the second to worst rate in England and Wales. How are you working with the Met Police to ensure more crimes get solved, a crucial factor to regain trust in our Police Service?

LGBT Diversity Data in Met Police Service

MOPAC’s Quarterly Performance Reports show diversity data within the Met Police Service and within its workforce recruitment. The data only focuses on ethnic minorities, women and black people. Why does the Met Police not provide data on LGBT officers and recruits and when can we expect LGBT data within the Met Police to be available?

Shoplifting

Data from the MPS shows that between 2022/23 and 2023/24, shoplifting increased by 48.7%. This follows a major increase of almost 40% in shoplifting between 2021/2022 and 2022/2023. The initiatives you reported on in your answer to question 2023/3744 clearly do not go far enough. What further initiatives are you undertaking to tackle this epidemic?
