While welcoming its eventual opening, can you both explain and apologise to Londoners for the delay? • Reference: 2011/2878
  • Question by: John Biggs
  • Meeting date: 12 October 2011
On the face of it, the current pay deal being offered to some employees of the MPS will have the greatest impact on the lower grades as, if implemented, it will mean a loss of a number of allowances which in some cases will mean the employee's earnings will fall to a level below the London Living Wage. Are you content with this regressive approach and do you have a view on its fairness?

  • Question by: John Biggs
  • Meeting date: 12 October 2011
Are you aware that Unite has withdrawn from the Organising for Change talks as they are of the view that insufficient business planning has been conducted in order to identify the numbers of staff required to meet the business needs? Do you intend to offer any leadership to help resolve this issue?
