Junction of Beckton Road/Hermit Road and Barking Road E16

Since the redevelopment of the Canning Town roundabout, only one pedestrian crossing of the previous four remains at the junction of Beckton Road, Hermit Road and Barking Road, E16. The London Borough of Newham and Transport for London are seeking ways to improve the situation but, in the meantime, in order to avoid possible casualties, would the Mayor ask TfL to liaise with the London Borough of Newham to put into place some temporary measures to safeguard people crossing the road while a permanent solution is sought?

When a constituent of mine spoke to a TfL representative on this matter, the representative was unaware of such a scheme. Why are TfL employees not aware of this important information, mentioned on their own website, for London's taxi drivers?
