In June 2018 you said you aim to have 3,200 special constables in the Met (MQ 2018/1567) and in July 2019 you said you wanted to have 2,054 by March 2020 (MQ 2019/14234). In January 2020, there were 1838 special constables. Why did the Met fail to reach these targets and what are you doing to recruit more?
