New Street Traffic Scheme

During the Covid pandemic, TfL introduced an experimental scheme that banned all cars, taxis and delivery vehicles from New Street in the City of London on weekdays between 7am and 7pm, without written notice to the residents of New Street. Despite many residents being deeply unhappy about this, TfL now wishes to make this scheme permanent. The questions within TfL’s consultation make it impossible to draw attention to the impact of the scheme on New Street. Extension of the Wandsworth Bridge Road Scheme to West Side

Hammersmith & Fulham Council cancelled a 14th March meeting on the proposed extension of the Wandsworth Bridge Road scheme to West Side, claiming this was “because of elections”. Given purdah does not start until 28th March, has the Council given TfL a better excuse for cancelling the meeting?

Online Fraud

During a recent meeting of the London Assembly Police and Crime Committee, AGE UK said that there is more you can do you protect older people from online fraud, including: • Bringing community organisations, adult safeguarding teams, the Met and your office together to share best practice and understand what is effective; • Improving and increasing access to courses for staying safe online, including using the Adult Education Budget; • Helping to distribute information on staying safe online through GP waiting rooms, pharmacies, leaflets in prescriptions and community notice boards. Will you consider implementing these suggestions?
