Freedom from Torture recently uncovered that the British Government is funding a partnership between at least four police forces, including the Metropolitan Police Service, and a Chinese police academy in the Xinjiang region, where the systematic torture of ethnic minorities has been widely documented. Do you support this partnership, and if not will you be raising your concerns with the Met and the Government directly?

If consistent themes of poor practice or misconduct are found in relation to the way in which strip searches have been conducted in the Met, will you commit to asking Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services (HMICFRS) to look into these through a thematic inspection of strip searching in the Met?
