Homes for London mailing lists

  • Reference: 2023/2613
  • Question by: Siân Berry
  • Meeting date: 22 June 2023
I have received a number of emails entitled “Siân, how to buy a home up to 10x your income 🏡”, which come from a company called Wayhome, the trading name of the Unmortgage Group, but sent by Keaze using the email address [email protected] with a different postal address to the registered office for Unmortgage Group. I believe I received this advertising a result of a Homes for Londoners (HfL) mailing list I joined via the intermediate homes scheme, because the Keaze.com website lists HfL among its partners. Could you explain how Wayhome and Keaze are connected to the Homes for...

Solar Together outsourcing and procurement (4)

  • Reference: 2023/2612
  • Question by: Siân Berry
  • Meeting date: 22 June 2023
In MD2503 Solar Together London, it says: “iChoosr will make money from a small fee per installed PV panel, paid for by the selected solar PV provider – this fee will be the same and agreed by iChoosr with all suppliers who will participate in the reverse auction.” How much money has iChoosr earned in fees since it first started managing the solar PV collective purchasing scheme in London?

Solar Together outsourcing and procurement (3)

  • Reference: 2023/2611
  • Question by: Siân Berry
  • Meeting date: 22 June 2023
The Solar Together bidding system run by iChoosr, which has so far appointed seven different companies over five phases to take on solar PV installations across London, appears to both support bigger businesses over smaller ones and push companies into taking on more contracts than they can actually handle, potentially forcing them into bankruptcy, as seemingly happened with Green Energy Together (GET-UK). Will you analyse the existing bidding arrangement before you commission future Solar Together rounds, and any other Mayoral schemes using a similar method, to ensure there are no inherent flaws within it?

Solar Together outsourcing and procurement (2)

  • Question by: Siân Berry
  • Meeting date: 22 June 2023
Thank you for your answer to my question 2023/1246, in which you said: “Under our Concession Agreement with iChoosr - they are responsible for ensuring that any installers entering the Solar Together auction can offer the required level of service to a large group of customers in the specified timeframe, and for ensuring that the scheme meets the expected standards set out in their contract with the installer.” Given the number of customers left being owed money or with half-completed installations since Green Energy Together (GET-UK) lost its industry accreditation, insurance and filed for liquidation, are you satisfied that iChoosr...

London Legacy Development Corporation fixed estate charge (5)

  • Reference: 2023/2608
  • Question by: Siân Berry
  • Meeting date: 22 June 2023
There were a number of recommendations in the Fixed Estate Charge (FEC) review at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. One was that, given the cost-of-living crisis and exceptionally high RPI, there should be a temporary cap on the indexation of the FEC. It was also suggested that the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) look at facilitating a package of benefits for residents who contribute to the funding of the Park and venues through the FEC. Could you update me on progress on these recommendations?

Climate Genocide Act Now MOPAC complaint

  • Reference: 2023/2606
  • Question by: Caroline Russell
  • Meeting date: 22 June 2023
The Climate Genocide Act Now (CGAN) group has contacted me to raise a query about the refusal by the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) to both investigate a case and to answer technical points raised by CGAN in 2020. CGAN submitted a dossier of evidence to the MPS, that sought to use international criminal law to prevent senior UK politicians from engaging in conduct that they say is contributing to mass loss of life and the other harms set out in The Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. An appeal was lodged with MOPAC, who replied on 4 January 2021...
