Following the announcement on the Long Term Plan for Housing by the Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities on 24 July 2023, which included the statement: “Confirming the intention to mandate second staircases in new residential buildings above 18m, following confirmation from expert bodies that they support this threshold,” could you confirm whether the redevelopment of Holloway Prison will be affected and, if so, to what extent?

The Health and Safety Executive has said that Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) is now beyond its lifespan and may: “collapse with little or no notice”. Your Deputy Mayor for Housing and Residential Development wrote to Building Safety Minister Lee Rowley MP on 7 August about RAAC to ask what steps the Government is taking to investigate the risk to residential homes. Could you share a copy of this letter and outline briefly the concerns that you have about RAAC in residential homes?
