I have received letters from sergeants of Safer Neighbourhood teams, complaining about them being overwhelmed by swathes of paperwork, so I assume they are not on EPIC yet. Gathering together a whole list of the performances that they have achieved over the previous month including lists of good news stories which we do get reported at the police authority in their abundance. What steps are you taking to make sure that the warranted officers of the Safer Neighbourhood teams are not turned into glorified administrators?

In terms of where you are getting extra remits, should the Assembly also be getting extra scrutiny powers?

You will be aware that the Assembly is pushing some of its own amendments, principally on matching extra powers that you might get with extra scrutiny powers to provide the checks and balances. Will you be supporting those Assembly amendments?
