Western Extension (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Richard Tracey
  • Meeting date: 14 July 2010
Mr Mayor, have you received any suggestions from Labour Members that you might perhaps extend the Congestion Charge Zone in to Lambeth and Southwark, or in east London, where it is arguable, surely, there is worse congestion than there is in Kensington and Chelsea and west London?

Role Models (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Darren Johnson
  • Meeting date: 14 July 2010
I agree that in this forum in Mayor's Question Time we cannot be expecting you to act as judge and jury and make instant decisions on allegations and cases, but will you agree to initiate an investigation into those comments by Mr Lewis and, if they are found to be true, will you then agree to remove him from the role that you have given him?

Pay Freeze (Supplementary) [4]

  • Question by: James Cleverly
  • Meeting date: 14 July 2010
Mr Mayor, if I could bring you back to some of the points that were raised with regard to restructuring of the LDA, would you agree that, in the period between now and any future structural changes, the LDA does need a finance department?

Pay Freeze (Supplementary) [3]

  • Question by: Navin Shah
  • Meeting date: 14 July 2010
Mr Mayor, do you agree with Grant Shapps [The Rt Hon Grant Shapps MP, Minister for Housing and Local Government] who has recently said that 'we are all in this together' and those who hold public office need to lead by example?

Pay Freeze (Supplementary) [2]

  • Question by: Gareth Bacon MP
  • Meeting date: 14 July 2010
): I would like to return to the issue raised regarding allowances paid to LFEPA Members. Quite a number of the Members of LFEPA receive absolutely nothing for being on the Authority. That includes me, it includes Mike Tuffrey, Tony Arbour; Darren Johnson and Murad Qureshi. It also includes Navin Shah now that he is no longer Vice Chairman. I have no idea whether he took his allowance when he was Vice Chairman. I am imagining that he did.

Pay Freeze (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Darren Johnson
  • Meeting date: 14 July 2010
On this issue of public sector pay do you agree with the Prime Minister's proposal that no public sector worker be paid more than 20 times the lowest paid worker within that organisation?

Bikes on Trams (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: James Cleverly
  • Meeting date: 14 July 2010
Mr Mayor, in August the city plays host to the largest triathlon by number of participants in the world, which is the London Triathlon. Please will you speak to TfL to avoid, once again, the perennial embarrassment of competitors attempting to take their bicycles on to the DLR - which is the quickest and greenest means of getting to that event - being told they are not allowed to bring bicycles on the DLR? Every year - and I brought this up last year as well - competitors from all over the world are confronted with TfL officials telling them...

Bureaucracy (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Tony Arbour
  • Meeting date: 14 July 2010
In the light of your recent article on health and safety relating to children riding on bicycles to school without being supervised by their parents and in the light of the statements made by Eric Pickles, the Secretary of State for Communities, saying that if there are any unnecessary regulations we can quite safely ignore them and they will be supported by Mr Pickles in Government - would you support police officers, or indeed anybody who is an employee of the GLA family, who chooses to ignore fatuous health and safety regulations as detailed by James Cleverly just then? Should...

Fares decision (Supplementary) [3]

  • Question by: John Biggs
  • Meeting date: 14 July 2010
Regarding the fares decision; you are basically putting your hands up and saying that you are a puppet on the end of a piece of string going back to Government, and whatever its grant decision is, that will dictate your fare increase?

Fares decision (Supplementary) [2]

  • Question by: Roger Evans
  • Meeting date: 14 July 2010
When you make your announcement on the fares package it could possibly tempt other people who want to be Mayor in future to make announcements and promises themselves. Would you have any advice for potential Mayoral contenders about what they should be promising on fares in the coming election, just in case any of them are watching or listening?
