Brexit challenges for London (Supplementary) [2]

  • Question by: Leonie Cooper
  • Meeting date: 22 March 2017
Leonie Cooper AM: Good morning, Mr Mayor. Since your arrival here in May [2016], many Londoners have said to me how pleased they are about the lead you have been taking on a wide range of environmental issues. Since 23 June [2016], a number of Londoners have also said to me how pleased they are that you have taken such a lead on the issues flowing from the Brexit vote. However, many people remain deeply concerned about the potential environmental impacts flowing from Brexit. I was wondering if you had had the opportunity in previous discussions with Anne Hidalgo, Mayor...

Brexit challenges for London (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Fiona Twycross
  • Meeting date: 22 March 2017
Fiona Twycross AM: Earlier this month the Trust for London published research carried out by Loughborough University highlighting that over four in ten Londoners already do not have an income that the general public would regard as the minimum required for a decent standard of living. Are you concerned that the pressure on Londoners’ incomes will be increased if we continue to see high levels of inflation as a result of Brexit pressures?

Land Value Tax (Supplementary) [3]

  • Question by: Nicky Gavron
  • Meeting date: 08 March 2017
Nicky Gavron AM: This is a question I was out of time on that I would like to ask. During the last mayoralty, there was a general perception that Old Oak and Park Royal would probably be a rather dull development with residential units and commercial units and so on but that it would not really have a star attraction. Now there has been a lot of talk about Queens Park Rangers going there and a stadium-led regeneration with everything from casinos to concert halls and, recently, there were press reports on a study you were doing on something called...

Land Value Tax (Supplementary) [2]

  • Question by: Caroline Russell
  • Meeting date: 08 March 2017
Caroline Russell AM: For the Chief Executive, will you meet with Will Norman, the Mayor’s Walking and Cycling Commissioner, to discuss how Old Oak Common can meet the Mayor’s Healthy Streets objectives, which include working for a diverse range of Londoners

Land Value Tax (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Tom Copley
  • Meeting date: 08 March 2017
Tom Copley AM: Thank you. I found a bit of time. I want to come back to the Land Value Tax question. Perhaps Doug could give the answer he was going to give me earlier on. Would it be beneficial in terms of raising finance for the project and, also, would it accelerate the delivery of new homes?

Businesses Around OPDC (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Nicky Gavron
  • Meeting date: 08 March 2017
Nicky Gavron AM: Victoria, you have given us quite a lot of context with this exchange. I want to go on talking about the industrial site. Park Royal is probably the largest strategic industrial location in the whole of Europe and it is definitely the industrial engine of the London economy and therefore a huge contributor to the UK economy. Everything you are saying about protecting it - and I really welcome what you were saying about the article 4 direction - and strengthening it is really important. You have talked about relocating some of the industries from Old Oak...

Engagement with Londoners (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Navin Shah
  • Meeting date: 08 March 2017
Navin Shah AM: Thank you, Chair. Will the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and planning agreements be sufficient to deliver the substantial amount of social infrastructure that will be required for the development?

OPDC Funding (Supplementary) [3]

  • Question by: Tony Devenish
  • Meeting date: 08 March 2017
Tony Devenish AM: Going back to Assembly Member Boff’s question, has the new chair indicated to you that the overall financial envelope - and we can argue over the amount and the contingency but let us not - may need to increase to facilitate the step-change required mentioned in the point that particularly Dr Sahota [AM] and Assembly Member Pidgeon made on the NHS in the early years, for example?

OPDC Funding (Supplementary) [2]

  • Question by: Len Duvall OBE
  • Meeting date: 08 March 2017
Len Duvall AM: Is part of that more sustainable funding around the MoU with the DfT? When are we going to resolve the land issues there with the DfT and also plug the gap in the infrastructure funding? Is that not key? What is the timescale? Who is leading the negotiations? I need very quick and concise answers on those.

OPDC Funding (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Andrew Boff
  • Meeting date: 08 March 2017
Andrew Boff AM: Thank you, Ms Hills. What did you originally ask the Mayor for with this budget?
