Victims of crime survey

Have you been a victim of crime? Do you have a view on how support for victims in London should be provided?  We want to hear from you.

Last year Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, announced an investment of over £47 million across three years for a range of victim support services. In order to ensure that the investment produces the best outcomes for victims, and meets the commitment within the Police and Crime plan of putting Victims at the heart of what we do, we need a clear idea of the current provision and what further support Victims need.

Claire Waxman, the Independent Victims Commissioner for London, is carrying out a review of compliance with the Victims' Code of Practice (VCOP), alongside a Strategic Victims Needs Assessment to ensure victims get the help they need, when they need it.

As part of that, we are asking victims to complete an online questionnaire about their experiences. This work seeks to understand the perspective of victims across the capital. By capturing the views and insights of victim as possible, we can identify their needs, the demand on services and gaps where further support is needed.
