ADD214 LLDC grant assistance to London Sport Limited for Active People Active Park

In November 2013, the London Legacy Development Corporation (“Legacy Corporation” or “LLDC”) was awarded a grant of £496,678 from Sport England’s Community Sport Activation Fund as lead bidder of a consortium that submitted a bid for support towards project costs for Active People Active Park. Active People Active Park is a sports participation programme aimed at getting inactive people active.

As a condition of the award, the LLDC is required to provide a grant of £150,000, over the period 1 February 2014 to spring 2017, to London Sport Limited to undertake project monitoring and management for the programme. The grant will be funded from within the LLDC’s revenue budget, and is included in the Corporation’s Ten-Year Plan.

This decision seeks consent, under Section 213 of the Localism Act 2011, and Paragraph 3.2 of the LLDC Governance Direction 2013, to the LLDC’s decision to provide grant assistance to London Sport Limited, because the grant value exceeds the Legacy Corporation’s delegation level for giving financial assistance by grant, as approved under DD854. The decision is taken by the Head of Area - North East in the GLA’s Housing and Land Directorate, under delegated authority from the Mayor.
