Its main purpose is to facilitate and coordinate the regeneration of the Old Oak and Park Royal Opportunity Area, an area in West London largely covered by industrial land. This area is of strategic importance as it will be home to the new Old Oak Common station, connecting the Elizabeth Line and planned High Speed 2 railway line (HS2).
