Overview

These Research Unit papers summarise evidence gathered by the London Assembly’s Planning and Regeneration Committee to support its scrutiny of the Mayor’s Draft London Plan, published for consultation on 16 July 2026.

The Public Engagement Events paper summarises discussions from two events held on 5 August 2026 in Southwark. The programme was split into two events that were aimed at gathering the perspectives of young people living in London (aged 11 to 17) and adults living in London (aged 18 and over). Through a series of activities, participants shared their experiences of living in, travelling through, and accessing different parts of the city.

The Stakeholder Engagement Event paper outlines discussions from an event held on 2 September 2026 at City Hall. The event brought together representatives from across the housing, environment, economy and transport sectors to explore the Draft London Plan’s priorities, opportunities and challenges, and to identify areas for improvement.

Together these reports provide an insight into the views of Londoners and stakeholders on the future development of London and feedback on the Draft London Plan. The evidence gathered at these events informed the Planning and Regeneration Committee’s scrutiny of the Draft London Plan, and its response to the Mayor’s consultation.
