Key facts

The London Assembly Budget and Performance Committee has published its report

Response to the Mayor’s draft consultation budget 2017-18 - which sets out recommendations for the Mayor’s first budget. The report criticised the draft budget’s distinct lack of transparency and its apparent attempts to hide cuts.

On 25 January, the whole Assembly will debate the proposals, however a number of issues have been highlighted by the Committee which need to be addressed before that happens.

Some of the recommendations

  • Clearly set out what cuts or changes have been made to investment in London’s transport network.
  • Set out plans for TfL to make £800 million of annual efficiency saving by 2020-21.
  • Investigate the terms of West Ham United Football Club’s lease for the London Stadium
  • Address the inconsistent manner in which the GLA Group’s plans for savings and efficiencies are presented.
