Capital Standards Campaign is a joint initiative by the Mayor and certain London boroughs, in partnership with the Association of London Government and ENCAMS. The Environment Committee has reviewed the Campaign to date as part of its work on Protecting the City Environment. The report outlines work to date by the Capital Standards Campaign on improving the Boroughs' existing work on street cleanliness; investigates the success of the different elements of the Campaign and makes recommendations on how the work of the Campaign could be improved. The majority view considers that the Campaign has had early successes, but that there is plenty of scope for further improvement. The minority view believes this is unfairly positive and outlines reasoning behind those boroughs who do not participate.
