With the construction of Crossrail well underway, our Transport Committee questioned senior representatives from Crossrail Ltd on 21 February about issues including: timescales and risks; procurement and supplier capacity; the impact of construction work on local residents and businesses; apprenticeships and the skills legacy; and the challenges of linking Crossrail to existing services.
Committee Members questioned:
- Terry Morgan, Chair, Crossrail Ltd
- Andrew Wolstenholme, Chief Executive, Crossrail Ltd
Following the meeting, the Committee wrote to Crossrail Ltd seeking further details on some issues. Crossrail Ltd responded with a report setting out supplementary information about the project on 29 March. Both documents are available below.
The hearing in February enabled the Committee to follow-up on its previous work on Crossrail. See the Committee's report 'The Construction of Crossrail', published in February 2010.
