Young Londoners to help shape response to underage vaping
With 45 per cent of young people who vape saying they started “just to give it a try” and 46 per cent saying taste is the most important factor when choosing a vape,1 the London Assembly Health Committee will tomorrow continue its investigation into underage vaping.
Assembly Members will hear from public health experts, youth organisations and young people about why children are vaping, how they can be better supported to quit, and what impact the new Tobacco and Vapes Act could have in London.
The Committee will also hear directly from the Tower Hamlets Anti-Vaping Youth Forum, exploring how young people can play a greater role in designing anti-vaping campaigns and support services. As part of its investigation, the Committee will be also working closely with London Youth Assembly on shaping its findings and recommendations.
Guests will include:
Panel 1 (2:00pm- 3:30pm)
- Kirstie Soar, Tobacco Harm Reduction Academic Consultant, National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training (NCSCT)
- Kirsten Watters, Children and Young People's Lead for the London Association of Directors of Public Health
