Q&A with the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime
The Mayor, as London’s Police and Crime Commissioner, has a statutory duty under the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 to publish a Police and Crime Plan (PCP) within the financial year in which he is elected.1 The Plan must set out the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime’s (MOPAC’s) priorities for the Mayor’s term.
The London Assembly Police and Crime Committee will tomorrow question the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime on the delivery and oversight of the Mayor’s Police and Crime Plan 2022-25, including the progress made in protecting people from exploitation and harm, evaluation in victim support services, and proposed action for reducing overall crime and building trust and confidence within communities.
Other topics of discussion include the MOPAC budget submission, His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services (HMICFRS) Police Efficiency, Effectiveness and Legitimacy (PEEL) Report, and the relocation of the Chinese Embassy.
- Kaya Comer-Schwartz, Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime
- Amana Humayun, Chief Financial Officer, MOPAC
- Kenny Bowie, Head of Strategy and MPS Oversight, MOPAC
The meeting will take place on Wednesday 18 December 2024 from 10am in the Chamber at City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, E16 1ZE.
