Under the 2010 Equality Act, public sector organisations have a legal duty to publish equality objectives and other information. For several years, the Mayor – and his predecessors – have published EDI Strategies, setting out the Greater London Authority’s (GLA) commitment to improve equality impact in London. The Mayor’s current EDI Strategy was published in 2018.
Tomorrow the GLA Oversight Committee will meet to assess the impact of the Mayor’s 2018-22 EDI Strategy, particularly focusing on the period April 2020 to March 2022. It will also examine the roles and responsibilities of functional bodies in embedding equality, diversity and inclusion across the GLA Group.
Guests at the meeting include:
- Dr Debbie Weekes-Bernard, Deputy Mayor for Communities and Social Justice
- Jazz Bhogal, Assistant Director, Health, Children and Young Londoners, GLA
- Rupinder Parhar, Head of Equalities, GLA
- Kenny Bowie, Director of Strategy and MPS Oversight, MOPAC
- Mark Evers, Chief Customer Officer, Transport for London (TfL)
- Spencer Sutcliff, Assistant Commissioner, Fire Stations and Central Operations, London Fire Brigade
The meeting will take place on Wednesday 24 May 2023 from 2pm in The Chamber, at City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way.
The meeting can also be viewed LIVE or later via webcast or YouTube.
