How will the Mayor’s new action plan deliver for disabled Londoners?
The Mayor’s Action Plan for Deaf and Disabled Londoners is due to be published this summer, with the Mayor committing to develop a “co-produced” plan.1 The plan sets out to deliver positive outcomes in housing, transport, employment, and public safety for disabled Londoners.
In September 2025, Dr Debbie Weekes-Bernard, Deputy Mayor for Communities and Social Justice, held an engagement event on the plan, with attendees from Deaf and disabled organisations.2
Tomorrow, the GLA Oversight Committee will speak to the Deputy Mayor about her current priorities, including discussing the progress of the Action Plan for Deaf and Disabled Londoners and other initiatives she oversees.
The Committee will also speak to Joanne McCartney AM, the Deputy Mayor for Children and Families about her priorities and work for the forthcoming year.
Guests include:
Panel 1 (Disability Action Plan) 10am – 11am:
- Dr Debbie Weekes-Bernard, Deputy Mayor for Communities and Social Justice
- Tom Rahilly, Assistant Director for Communities and Social Policy, GLA
Panel 2 (Children and families) 11am – 12pm:

The meeting will take place in Committee Rooms 2&3 at City Hall on Wednesday 8 July 2026 at 10am.
