How is the London Fire Brigade improving its culture?
In November 2022 an independent review of culture within the London Fire Brigade (LFB) identified a range of concerns including issues relating to institutional racism, misogyny and mental health.
Tomorrow, two years on from the publication of the Review, the London Assembly Fire Committee will ask the London Fire Commissioner, Andy Roe KFSM, and Deputy Commissioner, Jonathan Smith, what progress has been made to improve the organisation’s culture – and whether its Professional Standards Unit is effectively addressing misconduct.
Committee Members will also question the head of the LFB’s Independent Advisory Panel, Martin Forde QC, about his experiences of the LFB’s culture and efforts to address it since his appointment in August 2023.
The meeting will take place on Tuesday 3 December from 10am, in the Chamber at City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, E16 1ZE.
The guests are
Panel 1: 10am - 11am
- Martin Forde KC, Chair of the LFB’s Independent Advisory Panel
Panel 2: 11am
- Andy Roe KFSM, London Fire Commissioner
- Jonathan Smith, Deputy Commissioner, LFB
Media and members of the public are invited to attend.
The meeting can also be viewed LIVE or later via webcast or YouTube.
