How local charities support London’s unpaid carers

‘Local carers organisations’ are charities or private companies that typically work within one London borough and are commissioned by the local authority to provide services, including:

  • Carer’s assessments
  • Health and wellbeing support
  • Caring for people with specific conditions
  • Peer-to-peer support
  • Mutual carers

On Monday, the London Assembly Economy, Culture and Skills Committee will speak with local carers organisations about the work they do to support London’s unpaid carers, and the challenges faced by unpaid carers in London.

The guests are:

  • Mike Rich, Chief Executive Officer, Barnet Carers
  • Carla Brain, Young Carers Project Manager, Enfield Carers Centre
  • David Walker, Chief Executive Officer, Bromley Well / Bromley Third Sector Enterprise

The meeting will take place on Monday 12 January from 3.20pm in the Chamber at City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, E16 1ZE.

Media and members of the public are invited to attend.

The meeting can also be viewed LIVE or later via webcast or YouTube.
