Homes for women leaving prison

Housing Committee – Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 10am

The Housing Committee will ask guests how the Probation Service, local authorities, the voluntary and community sector and others provide housing to support women leaving prison, what specialist help is available for those with additional needs, and what steps the Mayor of London can take to address this issue.  The guests are:

Wednesday 22 January

Car Clubs

Transport Committee – Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 10am

The Transport Committee will ask representatives from Transport for London (TfL), London Boroughs, and a charity promoting shared transport about how car clubs are used in London and how they can contribute to the Mayor’s Transport Strategy targets.  The guests include:

London Resilience & GLA Workforce Report

GLA Oversight Committee – Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 2pm

The GLA Oversight Committee will discuss the community engagement, revised management arrangements and priorities of the London Resilience Group. The guests are:

  • Katherine Richardson, Director of Resilience
  • Kristen Guida, Head of Strategy, Prevention and Community Resilience
  • Additional guests to be confirmed

The Committee will also ask questions on the key headlines from the September 2024 GLA Workforce Report.  The guests are:

Thursday 23 January

Mayor’s Draft Consolidated Budget - Plenary

Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 10am

London Assembly Members will consider and debate the Mayor’s Draft Consolidated budget for 2025-26 and any amendments, as part of the statutory budget process.   The guests are:

  • Sir Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London  
  • David Bellamy, Mayor’s Chief of Staff 
  • Fay Hammond, Chief Finance Officer, GLA 

After questioning the Mayor, the Assembly will consider the Mayor’s Draft Consolidated Budget and whether to approve it, with or without amendment. Amendments are subject to securing the support of a simple majority of the Assembly Members present and voting.

This is the first of a two-stage budget-setting process. The Assembly is due to make a final decision on the budget at the Mayor’s Question Time meeting on Tuesday 25 February.
