Mayor's Affordable Homes Programme 2016-23
Housing Committee – The Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 10am
The Mayor announced in May that he had met his target of 116,000 starts for his Affordable Homes Programme (AHP) 2016-23, but when will these homes be completed, do they meet the needs of Londoners and what do the finances look like at this stage?
The London Assembly Housing Committee will meet to examine how the 116,000 starts target was met, including the types of housing delivered, and how many were additional homes, rather than rebuilds through regeneration.
- Tom Copley, Deputy Mayor for Housing and Residential Development
- Tim Steer, Executive Director, Housing & Land, Greater London Authority
- Heather Juman, Assistant Director, Housing & Land, Greater London Authority
- Helen Hodgson, Director, Housing, Communities and Local Government Value for Money, National Audit Office

Emerging fire hazards in London
Fire, Resilience and Emergency Planning Committee, The Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 10am
Lithium-Ion batteries are small and lightweight but can store a large amount of energy. As a result of these characteristics, they are volatile under stress and if damaged or incorrectly charged they can be a fire risk.
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) has reported a significant increase in such fires in London and said that they attended an e-bike or e-scooter fire every two days so far in 2023. How can Londoners keep themselves safe around these batteries? What can be done about the fire hazard of disposable BBQs?
- Baroness Twycross, Deputy Mayor for Fire and Resilience
- Dom Ellis, Deputy Commissioner, LFB
- Charlie Pugsley, Assistant Commissioner, LFB
- Dan Daly, Head of Continuous Improvement, National Fire Chiefs Council
- Dan Parsons, Director, Fully Charged ebikes
- Lucy Grenville, Safety and Law Enforcement Liaison, Tier Mobility
