London’s exempt accommodation scandal

Housing Committee

The Housing Committee will publish a report following an investigation by the Committee - the first of its kind in London – looking at supported ‘exempt’ accommodation in London, and how some rogue providers are exploiting the market for financial gain.

The Committee is urging the Mayor and the Greater London Authority (GLA) to act urgently to tackle serious problems with exempt accommodation in London.

Retrofit vs Rebuild part 2

For the second of two meetings, the Planning and Regeneration Committee will discuss whole life-cycle carbon (WLC) and the circular economy in London’s built environment.

The Committee’s objective is to scrutinise to what extent the London Plan policies on WLC assessments and on the circular economy, are likely to lead to more sustainable outcomes for buildings in London.
