Mayor's 23/24 Capital Spending Programme

Budget and Performance Committee – The Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 10am

The Mayor published his Capital Spending Plan for the Greater London Authority (GLA) Group in February 2023, which included plans for £4.4 billion of capital expenditure across the GLA Group. Transport for London (TfL) is responsible for the delivery of £2.3 billion of capital expenditure this financial year and the GLA a further £1.5 billion.

The London Assembly Budget and Performance Committee will meet to examine issues of choice and delivery of capital spending projects, specifically TfL and the GLA’s Affordable Housing Programme, as well as value for money considerations.

For the second of two meetings on childcare in London, the Economy Committee will discuss the opportunities and challenges faced by the childcare sector, including the availability of provision, access to funding, staffing and pay.

London's river transport services

What role could the River Thames play in transporting Londoners across the capital, and what plans are in place to increase passenger numbers for river transport services?

The Transport Committee will meet to discuss London’s River transport services and investigate any potential expansion and investment from TfL and the potential use of the river for light freight deliveries across London.

Protecting London’s wild spaces

The London Assembly Environment Committee carried out an investigation into wild spaces in London, and how the Mayor of London can ensure they are protected for future generations. The Committee will publish a letter to the Mayor with three recommendations to help wild spaces flourish in London.
