He has campaigned for a new flyover at Gallows Corner, policies to make London safe for motorcyclists, and better protection for transport workers during the pandemic. Locally, he works closely with charities to tackle antisocial behaviour, knife crime and homelessness across Havering and Redbridge.

Born and raised in Havering, Keith later moved to Redbridge to raise his own family. He has served as a councillor in both Havering (1990 to 1995) and Redbridge (2003 to 2018). He led Redbridge Council between May 2009 and June 2014.
