1. Had you spent all of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund you received for 2022-23 by 31 March 2023? Please note, I am working on the assumption that you received the below settlement, for UKSPF core spending for 2022-23 (not including Multiply) so let me know if that is not true. The data for this is gov.uk and publicly available and this has been lifted from there and rounded to the nearest £100k.
2. If not, how much did you spend by 31 March 2023?
3. Have you or do you intend to submit a ‘credible plan’ to roll over this spending for 2023-24?
4. Have you received your settlement for 2023-24 and if so on what date?
Our response
1. No. Unsurprisingly, as the government did not agree the London UKSPF Investment Plan, which we were required to submit for their approval in July 2022, until December 2022.
2022-23 funding was not physically received by the GLA until 30 December 2022. We are working to the figure in your table, noting it is a rounded figure.
2. Actual spend advised to the GLA is £1.9m (rounded figure).
3. Yes. It is a requirement of our reporting to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) that lead authorities supply a ‘credible plan’ for carrying forward expenditure into 2023-4; and it has been submitted.
4. No. We do not expect to receive it until DLUHC approves our credible plan which, if the plan is accepted, might mean payment in the coming weeks. We do not have a date, other than noting guidance on gov.uk which states ‘at the start of the financial year’.
