Your request

With regard to the provision of workers engaged through recruitment agencies for the period of 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022, please confirm:

1. Whom is your agency or managed service provider?
2. What was your method of procurement for this contract?
3. Whom is your current contract manager?
4. What is your spend on workers, interims and consultants engaged via agencies?
5. The number of agency workers with a charge rate of over £400 per day or £55 per hour through this managed service and also off contract (not via the provider).
6. The names of the agencies engaged that have supplied workers directly that are not through the agency managed service provider aka ‘off contract spend'.

Our response

Please see the answers to each question in turn below:

1. To August 2021, Hays and since September 2021, Reed Specialist Recruitment Ltd. As of September 2021, all agency workers were transferred from Hays to Reed.
2. Via an Official Journal of the European Union Find a Tender Service Process; a Competitive Procedure with Negotiation.
3. Patrick Alleyne, Human Resources Reward and Operations Manager.
4. The Agency spend in 2021-22 was £5.8 million.
5. One worker with a charge above £55 per hour; 6 workers with a charge above £400 per day.
