FOI - Protest permissions [Sep 2025]

I am seeking information relating to a planned protest in London on 13 September 2025.. Specifically, I would like to request any one of the following, whichever is most readily available to your authority:

• A copy of any notification of a public procession or application to hold a demonstration submitted by or on behalf of the organiser and/or;
• Any correspondence between your authority and the organiser regarding this planned protest and/or;
• A record of any decision or conditions imposed by your authority in relation to this planned protest.
• If parts of this information engage exemptions (for example, personal data such as home addresses or phone numbers, or sensitive security details), I request that those be redacted rather than withholding the document in full.

Response

Our response relates to any applications/correspondence between the GLA and the organisers of the event you describe.

This constitutes personal data which is defined by Article 4(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to mean any information relating to an identified or identifiable living individual. It is considered that disclosure of this information would contravene the first data protection principle under Article 5(1) of GDPR which states that Personal data must be processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner in relation to the data subject.
