Your request 

  1. How much public money from GLA funds has been awarded to support Pride in London in 2025, and what conditions are attached to that funding
  2. Does the mayor believe institutions and events funded by public money should be permitted to exclude participants based solely on their political opinion
  3. Specifically, does the Mayor think it is acceptable for Pride in London to ban political parties from participating in the event
  4. Will the Mayor be participating in the parade

Our response

The GLA provides £125,000 in grant funding to support the delivery of the Pride parade, which took place on Saturday 5 July 2025. The milestone table falls within the scope of the ‘conditions’ attached to the funding:

Pride in London are an independent organisation. Whilst the organisers have banned political groups from participating, people are still free to attend the event as individuals.
