This is an information request relating to Pride month 2026
Please include the following information:
- Whether any events have been organised for Pride month. If so please provide the date, start and end time, and title/topic of the event
- Whether any LGBT themed merchandise has been purchased for Pride month. i.e. since the beginning of the 2026/27 financial year. If so please provide me with information on what has been purchased and the cost
- Whether the organisation has sponsored any Pride events. If so which events and please provide details of the nature of the sponsorship (particularly the financial value)
Our response
London’s Pride is a cultural and community highlight of the year, bringing together the capital’s diverse LGBTQIA+ communities and allies in a powerful celebration of solidarity, openness and inclusion. The parade and event showcase the vital contribution of LGBTQIA+ Londoners and reinforces London’s reputation as a city that celebrates diversity. With close to 1500 volunteers and 1 million attendees every year, we are committed to ensuring that Pride continues to be the largest celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community in the country.
The GLA organised the Mayor of London’s Pride Reception, 30 June, 6pm to 8pm.
Pride themed uniformed t-shirts and hand-held flags, at a cost of £1,740, were provided to GLA staff and volunteers joining the London Pride parade. Major events such as Pride contribute over £600m, on average, to the capital’s economy every year.
The GLA does not sponsor any Pride events. However, the GLA provides £125,000 in grant funding to support delivery of the community-led London Pride event held on Saturday 4 July.
