Summary of request
Your request
- How long did the Overground renaming process take?
- What were the names for the lines which were suggested but not chosen? i.e. the potential line names that weren't successful in the end. Please provide this as a list.
- What was the process to choose the names?
Our response
- The Mayor committed to naming the London Overground lines in his manifesto which was published in April 2021. Early in 2023 TfL started its internal project process and the full network updates are expected to complete in autumn 2024. Transport for London (TfL) is the Mayor's transport authority and is responsible for implementing the Mayor's Transport Strategy, and for the day-to-day operational running of transport services. As TfL managed this project, you may wish to send a further request to TfL at [email protected].
- The GLA does not hold a long list of names. You may wish to submit a further request to TfL.
