Summary of request
Your request
- How many tickets are available for general public for new year firework and how many are sold to various agencies?
- I see tickets are on sell on londonnyefireworks2023 at very high cost but on mayor website its sold out. Why there is no ballot for this event? Does event is not meant for common public to enjoy new year celebration.
- Why the date for ticket sale is not given exact at least before 2 months?
Our response
- 106,696 tickets to the London New Year’s Eve Fireworks event have been sold by the sole ticketing agency, AXS, on behalf of the Greater London Authority (GLA). The GLA does not sell tickets to other ticket agencies and limits sales to four per purchase to ensure a fair availability of tickets.
- The website londonnyefireworks2023 is not affiliated in any way with the event, the Greater London Authority or with the Mayor of London. No tickets have been sold knowingly or intentionally to this site or its operators and we strongly advise people not to buy tickets from anywhere other than the one official channel. Tickets identified as having been resold against the terms and conditions of purchase are invalidated.
- The first ticket release went on sale on 3 November and sold out on 14 November. The second and final release of tickets went on sale on 1 December and sold out by 5 December. Dates for ticket sales are announced only when sufficient pre-planning with authorities, emergency services and stakeholders has occurred to allow confidence in the event capacity and justify selling a certain number of tickets for the event.
