FOI - London Growth Plan [Mar 2026]

Key information

Request reference number: MGLA130226-4178

Date of response:

Summary of request

Under the London growth plan there is a plan to add 150,000 new, high-quality jobs.

Could you let me know how many have been added since the launch of the plan and how this is measured?

Our response

Thank you for your enquiry. The GLA is making steady progress towards the Mayor’s commitment to support the creation of 150,000 good jobs by 2028. Officers have developed a monitoring framework to track employment outcomes, focusing on the GLA’s direct contribution to job creation and access to work, with scope to expand over time to reflect wider activity delivered through the London Growth Plan. Early analysis across a small number of programmes suggests that more than 35,000 jobs were created, supported, or safeguarded across London in 2024/25. These figures are provisional estimates and subject to further changes while data collection and the full list of contributing programmes are finalised. A paper setting out the monitoring methodology will be published shortly.
