Key information

Request reference number: MGLA170322-7149

Date of response:

Summary of request

Your request

1. How many members of staff in your organisation are reservists?

2. What percentage of members of staff in your organisation are reservists?

3. How many days paid leave are reservists entitled to in their capacity as reservists? To be used for example to undertake reservists duties or training.

4. How many days unpaid leave are reservists entitled to in their capacity as reservists? To be used for example to undertake reservists duties or training.

5. Do you have a dedicated policy for how the organisation supports members of staff
who are reservists? If yes, please provide a copy of this policy. If no, please provide details of any support you provide for reservists.

‘Members of staff’ refers to anyone currently employed by the organisation on a
permanent basis or on a fixed term contract, please do not include agency staff,
contractors or consultants. ‘Reservist’ refers to anyone who is in the Army Reserve, RAF Reserves or Royal Navy Reserves. Please ensure you take into account all reservists who are members of staff, not just those who are deployed.

Our response

The GLA does not require reservists to record that they are a reservist on their
personal record and it is for them to discuss this with their line manager. Therefore, we do not hold this information.

Members of staff are entitled to take up to 10 days paid leave in their capacity as reservists. A director has the discretion to grant up to an additional 10 days’ unpaid leave. Please see the attached policy for further information.

Please see the attached policy for details on how the GLA supports members of staff
who are reservists.

If you have any further questions relating to this matter, please contact me, quoting
