Summary of request
Your request
- How many pieces of art, broadly defined, do you currently have in storage that are not on display? I use 'storage' as loosely defined too.
- Please provide the name of and price of the most expensive piece of art that is council-owned and not on display.
- Do you have any Banksy art (authenticated or not)?
- How many pieces of art have you sold since 2017-18? Please provide a breakdown for the last five full financial years.
- How much money did the council receive from the selling of this art?
Our response
For context, please note that the GLA is London's strategic government and does not operate in the same way as local councils. In London you would need to contact the Borough Councils, including the City of London and Westminster City Council.
Please see below the answers to your questions 1-5:
- None. Although the Mayor directly funds the Museum of London (including the Museum of London Docklands), the Mayor and GLA do not hold any collections directly.
- Not applicable (see above).
- No.
- None. Although the GLA has funded public art, the GLA has not sold any publicly owned art in the timeframe you specify.
- Not applicable (see above).
