Key information

Request reference number: MGLA171220-2137

Date of response:

Summary of request

You requested:

Attached to this request is a photographic image taken on 19 July, 2013 of Mayor Boris
Johnson in the MCC box at Lord's cricket ground (see link below).

1. Who was Mayor Johnson meeting at Lord's cricket ground?

2. Did Mayor Johnson have any official staff in attendance?

3. If yes to 2, what were the names of these staff?

Our response is as follows:

We no longer hold the original diaries from 2013.

The Mayor’s report to the London Assembly at Mayor’s Question Time meeting on 11 September 2013 confirms “I attended the Ashes Test Match at Lords on 19 July”, which is corroborated in the diary records on our disclosure log.

We do not hold information about who the former Mayor may have met with. We do not
hold any agenda or attendee list and we do not routinely itemise everyone that the
Mayor may meet or speak to at engagements.

The former Mayor received an invitation to visit Lords Cricket Ground from the Chairman
of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The invitation was for a range of dates in
2013 including Friday 19 July 2013.

The Mayor subsequently wrote and thanked the Chair and Deputy Chair of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) for welcoming him to an event at Lords.

We do not hold a record of any City Hall staff that may have accompanied the Mayor.

For reference please see the links below for the Mayor’s report to the London Assembly on 11 September 2013 and the Mayor’s diary records on the disclosure log.

If you have any further questions relating to this matter, please contact me, quoting the reference MGLA171220-2137.
