Summary of request
Your request
I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 about steps being taken or proposed to obtain the actual scale of fare evasion in TfL.
I would like to receive the following information
-
The most recent internal report or financial assessment (within the last five years) that estimates the total cost of fare evasion, including both detected and undetected cases.
-
Any existing methodology or studies used (or proposed) to estimate fare evasion beyond detected cases. This may include internal memos, audits, or working papers discussing potential methods to quantify undetected evasion.
Our response
The GLA does not hold the information within scope of your request. Transport for London (TfL) is the Mayor's transport authority and is responsible for implementing the Mayor's Transport Strategy, and for the day-to-day operational running of transport services. You may wish to send a further request to TfL at [email protected].
