Our response

The current list of London Assembly members is published on the GLA website. You can click on the profile of each to view salary and expenses.

The information we hold within scope of your request relating to the GLA workforce is published on our website. Workforce reports are produced every six months for the periods ending 31 March and 30 September. They are reported to the GLA Oversight Committee and contain a range of employment statistics.

Workforce reports contain:

  • black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) staff breakdown
  • disabled staff overview
  • gender overview
  • sexual orientation (as a percentage).

Please note that information relating to the further breakdown of the equality related statistics is exempt from disclosure under Section 40 (Personal information) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

This information could potentially identify specific employees and as such constitutes as personal data which is defined by Article 4(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to mean any information relating to an identified or identifiable living individual. It is considered that disclosure of this information would contravene the first data protection principle under Article 5(1) of GDPR which states that personal data must be processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner in relation to the data subject.
