FOI - Boris Johnson and Middle Temple [Nov 2024]

Request:

1. According to Mayor Johnson’s Mayoral calendar he attended Middle Temple on 03/11/2011 to deliver a speech and become an honorary master bencher of the Inn. I request the following:

- A copy of the invitation to the event
- A copy of his confirmation to attend

- Any correspondence between Middle Temple and Mayor Johnson concerning this honour

- Mayor Johnson’s speech

- Any other recorded information connected to this event and Mayor Johnson (including photographs, and anything else you hold).

2. On June 18th 2008 this exchange took place within the GLA Assembly:

I can confirm that the GLA holds information within the scope of your request. Please find attached a letter from the Middle Temple to the former Mayor of London (12 March 2011) and his response (8 April 2011).

Please note that some personal details are exempt from disclosure under Section 40 of the Freedom of Information Act related to Personal information, which is defined by Article 4(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to mean any information relating to an identified or identifiable living individual. It is considered that disclosure of this information would contravene the first data protection principle under Article 5(1) of GDPR which states that Personal data must be processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner in relation to the data subject.
