Summary of request

  1. Please provide any internal documents, memos, reports, planning materiel or information which detail locations which could be used by members of the public as ‘bomb shelters’, and any of the above which detail the capacity of people the locations could hold.  
  2. Please provide any internal documents, memos, reports, planning materiel or information specifically on the use of TFL underground stations for the use of ‘bomb shelters’, and any of the above which detail the capacity of people the network could hold.  
  3. Please provide any internal documents, memos, reports, planning materiel or information relating to the impact that bombings or missile strikes may have on emergency services within London.   
  4. Please provide any information on if London has any active ‘bomb/air raid sirens’ or systems to alert to possible strikes.  
  5. Please provide any internal documents, memos, reports, planning materiel or information in relation to any emergency procedures which could be utilised in the event of an ‘attack’ in London by the use of bombs/missiles. 

Our response

We do not hold any information relating to the provision or location of public shelters or air-raid sirens.

In addition, we have attached a copy of the Strategic Coordination Protocol for your reference. Please note that this document is scheduled to be formally uploaded and made publicly available in due course.
